(TB) 'Pencil Sketch' 1972, Plough 'Pencil Sketch' ( Gordon Plough, R. 1971). Seedling# 67-56-5. TB, 30" (76 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards greyed tones of barium yellow (503/1), practically solid color; falls same, lined with plicata markings radiating from beard giving effect of a pencil sketch; light violet area around orange beard. Seedling# 64-82-75: (involving 'Jakarta' sibling, 'Jaipur', 'My Darling', 'Copper Halo') X 'Painted Wings'. Eden Road 1972."PENCIL SKETCH (Plough) has to grow on you. A kook that reminds us of old APRIL SHOWERS."
